The Pacific Palisades Community Council held its January 12, 2023 meeting via Zoom, during which the board approved previous minutes, heard presentations from the 3-1-1 Call Center director about city services, and received reports from LAPD, County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath's office, Councilmember Traci Park's office, and various community advisors on topics including crime statistics, homelessness, park issues, and infrastructure concerns. The PPCC Executive Committee unanimously supports a motion by Councilmember Buscaino that proposes an ordinance to prohibit sitting, lying, sleeping, and storing personal property within 500 feet of libraries in the public right-of-way. This position is consistent with previous PPCC positions supporting bans on homeless encampments near sensitive sites including schools, libraries, parks, and in low-density residential zones.
