A motion proposed by MTC and C. LoBuglio on May 19, 2025, requested that Caltrans delay the I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project until after Pacific Coast Highway fully reopened and Palisades fire debris removal was complete. The motion passed in six Westside councils including Pacific Palisades Community Council but failed to achieve majority adoption across all councils before the August 2025 deadline; Caltrans subsequently began the repaving project in June 2025 with nighttime-only lane closures.
